The new trains are being built at the Hitachi factory in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, where the new livery has been applied.

The inspiration for creating the stylish look of the train was drawn from Avanti West Coast’s Pendolino trains, which have a color palette reflecting various landscapes in the regions they will travel through.

Testing of the new trains will commence next week, with the Class 805 train chosen to showcase the new livery, numbered 805005, receiving its finishing touches before being introduced to the Avanti West Coast fleet.

This will be the third train officially handed over to Avanti West Coast when it is delivered to the Oxley depot in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, next week.
