Leo Express trains ran a total of 4.6 million train-kilometers. The operator also achieved an average delay of just 0.03 minutes per train-kilometer, the best among Czech rail companies.

EBITDAR more than doubled to €13.1 million compared to €5.7 million in 2023. Net profit jumped to €1.7 million, rising sharply from €165,000 posted the previous year.

The company reinvested €5 million into rolling stock upgrades for its Prague–Ostrava line and international routes to Slovakia and Poland. All upgraded trains were fitted with the European Train Control System (ETCS).

Leo Express also trained its staff to support the ETCS rollout, improving both safety and operational reliability without relying on bank loans for these investments.

Leo Express Boosts Infrastructure with Dual-Voltage Technology

In a major step forward, Leo Express launched a €16 million investment in dual-voltage systems to operate on both AC and DC networks. This project is co-funded by the EU via the Czech Ministry of Transport’s OPD3 program.

Swiss manufacturer Stadler secured the contract to deliver this advanced technology. The upgrade will enable broader operational reach and compatibility across international routes.

Leo Express Expands with Renfe Support in Central Europe

Renfe’s majority stake since 2021 has strengthened Leo Express’s position in Central Europe. In 2024, the company completed its first full year of commuter service between Bratislava and Komárno.

That contract marked Renfe’s first start-to-finish participation in a European public service agreement. It also helped the Czech operator double its operations over the past year.

Today, Leo Express offers a mix of commercial and public rail services across the Czech Republic and cross-border routes into Slovakia and Poland, maintaining its momentum for continued growth.
