The full line is expected to be operational by June 2025.

The contract for the supply of 30 six-car suburban electric trains and 10 three-car metro trains, worth $340 million, was awarded to Bombardier Transportation in May 2020, which was subsequently acquired by Alstom in 2021.

The rolling stock is entirely designed in India and manufactured at the Savli factory as part of the Make in India initiative.

The trains are equipped with an ETCS Level 3 train control system over LTE, allowing them to operate at a maximum speed of 160 km/h with a 3-minute frequency.
