DB Cargo UK has once again received a royal warrant from King Charles III, reaffirming its role in managing the Royal Train. The Doncaster-based freight operator has been responsible for transporting the Royal Family since rail privatisation, ensuring safety and reliability for over three decades.

Royal Train Updates Reflecting Monarchy’s Transition
As part of the transition, DB Cargo UK will update the Royal Cypher and rename a key locomotive. Queen’s Messenger 67005 will be officially renamed King’s Messenger, marking a new chapter in railway history.
Additionally, Royal Sovereign 67006 will receive an updated Royal Cypher while keeping its original name intact. These changes honor the monarchy’s heritage while embracing continuity and progress.
