Over four years, freight transport between Kazakhstan and Georgia expanded ninefold, while the Trans-Caspian corridor’s volume increased sixfold. Infrastructure upgrades continue driving regional trade efficiency.
By 2027, planned investments will expand the Middle Corridor’s capacity to 10 million tonnes annually. These enhancements will strengthen regional trade, benefiting both businesses and governments.
Initiatives to establish competitive tariffs, reduce delivery times, and boost freight volume are being actively pursued. These measures will ensure a cost-effective and efficient trade route for international logistics.
Kazakh businesses are also investing in Georgia’s infrastructure, supporting long-term logistics development. A new multimodal terminal in Poti, built by a Kazakh logistics group, is set to launch later this year.
In 2024, freight traffic on the Trans-Caspian corridor rose by 62%, reaching 4.5 million tonnes. Governments remain committed to optimizing infrastructure and removing administrative barriers for smoother trade operations.
Efforts are underway to expand rolling stock, upgrade ports, and create favorable conditions for transport carriers. Both nations are focused on sustaining long-term trade growth through collaborative efforts.
Kazakhstan’s leadership reaffirmed its commitment to deepening ties with Georgia across multiple sectors. Strengthening regional transport networks remains a top priority for both governments.
Bilateral discussions also covered trade, logistics, energy, agriculture, tourism, and digital innovations. These areas of cooperation highlight the growing economic partnership between Kazakhstan and Georgia.
Georgia’s prime minister emphasized the significance of his first official visit to Kazakhstan, underscoring mutual economic goals. He expressed interest in strengthening trade and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
Kazakhstan and Georgia are implementing a roadmap to expand trade turnover through 2026. This strategic framework aims to enhance economic cooperation and diversify export opportunities.
Kazakhstan is actively expanding its export portfolio to Georgia, introducing new non-resource goods to the market. The initiative includes 35 domestic products worth over $66 million, supporting trade diversification.
Key exports include petrochemicals, metallurgy, food products, chemicals, and machinery. These additions align with both countries’ strategic trade goals, promoting sustainable economic development.
