Natural uranium of the Kazakh state corporation “Kazatomprom” began to be transported via the Trans-Caspian international transport route. It is reported by Railway Supply with reference to Rail.insider.

Sets of KTZ Express containers loaded with special cargo are formed at the Kazakh stations Zhanatas and Oskemen. Then, through the seaports of Aktau, Baku and Poti, they head towards destinations in Europe and America. The new route Kazatomprom plans to export 3.5 thousand tons of uranium (one sixth of its annual production).

“Kazatomprom is successfully using Middle corridor as an alternative route for uninterrupted supply of products to Western markets,” the company said.
