Kazakhstan has invested $35 billion in the development of transportation infrastructure over 15 years, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Prime Minister Alihan Smailov made this statement at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Almaty.

According to him, during these years, it was possible to launch a logistics center in Lianyungang, the dry port of Khorgos, the transit corridor “Western Europe – Western China,” and a railway corridor from China to Iran, as well as modernize the ports of Kuryk and Aktau on the Caspian Sea.

The head of the government noted that construction has also begun on the Kazakh terminal in the Chinese city of Xi’an, new railways “Bakhty – Ayagoz,” “Darbaza – Maktaaral,” a bypass line around the Almaty station, and the second tracks of the railway “Dostyk – Moyynty.”
