Kazakhstan: Construction of a railway bypassing Almaty

Construction of a railway bypassing the former capital of Kazakhstan is proceeding according to schedule, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Currently, work is underway on sections totaling 20 kilometers, involving over 100 pieces of specialized equipment and around 300 workers.
In total, plans call for the construction of 75 kilometers of mainline track, 50 kilometers of station tracks, 18 bridges, one road crossing at the Zhetigen station, and 49 water crossings.
It is expected that the implementation of the Almaty bypass railway project will reduce the burden on the Almaty railway junction by 40% and shorten cargo delivery times.
