As of June 2024, the total cost of delivered machinery and equipment has exceeded $7 million, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The list of received equipment includes loaders, excavators, truck cranes, dump trucks, and various tools for railway infrastructure repair.
This information was announced via the corporate communication channel “UZ VEZE”.
Kazakhstan needs to additionally acquire 478 mainline locomotives by 2032
It is expected that by the end of June, Ukrzaliznytsia will receive the final batch of equipment worth $1.5 million.
This delivery will include new flat wagons, which will significantly expand the company’s cargo transportation capabilities.
Recently, Ukrzaliznytsia received another batch of equipment, including five dump trucks.
Yuriy Nemchikov, Director of Corporate Finance at Ukrzaliznytsia, noted that due to the large number of damaged tracks and bridges, the company is working in an intensified mode.
“Our specialists work every day, tirelessly, to deliver goods and people to the cities and places where needed. Thanks to the RELINC project, we have the opportunity to receive transport and equipment that help quickly restore what, unfortunately, the aggressor destroys,” he said.
The RELINC project is an important source of support for Ukrzaliznytsia in the face of current challenges.
Under the project, the company has already received machinery and equipment worth about $3 million.
The new batch of equipment will help the company cope with the tasks of restoring and maintaining railway infrastructure, which is especially important in the context of the ongoing conflict.
Thus, with the support of the RELINC project, Ukrzaliznytsia significantly improves its capabilities in repairing and maintaining railway infrastructure, as well as ensuring uninterrupted cargo and passenger delivery.
This project plays a key role in restoring Ukraine’s transport system, which is an integral part of the country’s economic and social development during this difficult period.
