Regular service partially resumes on February 14, operating between Pisgat Ze’ev and Mount Herzl. However, extended sections require additional testing before full passenger access is granted.

Alternative Transportation During Jerusalem Light Rail Suspension

To mitigate disruption, transit authorities reinforce bus routes, enhancing frequency and optimizing city-wide mobility. Northern Jerusalem benefits from expanded services on lines 22, 25, 49, 65, 66, 540, and 541.

Beit Hanina commuters experience increased service on route 274, improving transport reliability significantly. These enhancements ensure smooth travel despite the temporary suspension of rail operations.

Central Jerusalem commuters rely on bus lines 500 and 501, connecting Givat Hamivtar with the Central Bus Station. Additionally, line 502 provides seamless transit between the Central Bus Station and City Hall.

Bus line 503 facilitates travel between Givat Hamivtar and City Hall, offering commuters a consistent alternative. Meanwhile, southwestern Jerusalem’s transport network enhances operations on lines 20, 21, 23, 24, 27, and 29.

Following service restoration, twelve new stations will open, improving connectivity and accessibility citywide. Authorities introduce four stops in Neve Yaakov and expand coverage in Kiryat Yovel and Kiryat Menachem.

The improved infrastructure optimizes urban mobility, reducing congestion and enhancing travel efficiency. Authorities remain committed to strengthening Jerusalem’s public transportation network for future commuters.
