05.06.2024
Kinki Sharyo, a well-known Japanese manufacturer of railway rolling stock, has started delivering the latest 8A series electric trains, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The first four-car train set was successfully delivered from the Higashi-Osaka factory to the Kintetsu passenger carrier depot located in Yao City.
At the Ukrainian-Romanian border, a transshipment terminal has been launched
It is expected that twelve such trains will start operating on lines passing through the prefectures of Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara from October this year.
In 2025, the launch of another seventeen units is planned, which will serve other routes.
The new 8A series trains are designed to replace outdated rolling stock produced back in the 1960s.
The implementation of modern technologies has significantly improved the energy efficiency of the new trains.
According to the manufacturer, the new train sets consume 45% less electricity compared to their predecessors.
This not only reduces operating costs but also has a positive impact on the environmental situation.
The interior of the 8A series trains is characterized by an increased level of comfort and safety.
Rotatable seats are installed in the cabin, allowing passengers to arrange themselves more comfortably and adapt the space to their needs.
To ensure safety and quick response to emergencies, each car is equipped with four surveillance cameras and two emergency call buttons.
Special attention is given to the convenience of passengers with reduced mobility.
Each car provides two spaces for wheelchairs and large luggage near the central doors.
This significantly improves the accessibility of public transport for all passenger categories, including people with disabilities.

Although the exact number of seats and operational speed of the trains are not yet disclosed, it can be expected that they will meet the high standards of Japanese railway transport, which is renowned for its punctuality and comfort.
The delivery of the new 8A series trains is an important step in updating Kintetsu’s railway fleet.
The modern train sets will not only improve the quality of passenger service but also enhance the efficiency of railway transportation.
The introduction of these trains demonstrates the company’s commitment to keeping pace with technological progress and meeting the needs of modern passengers.
