not to renew the contract with the current head of UZ

This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Railinsider.

The heads of the UZ for the last 5 years were invited to the meeting. There was also supposed to be the Minister of Infrastructure and his predecessor. It was planned to discuss the implementation of the recommendations of the interim report of IC and “the reasons for the failure of global reforms in the company.”

Neither the minister nor the current chairman of the board attended the meeting. The commission decided to recognize the work of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Ukrzaliznytsia as unsatisfactory in implementing the recommendations and conclusions of the interim report of the IC.

“Not a single recommendation of the Interim Commission has been implemented,” Yulia Grishina emphasized.

IC also intends to apply to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine regarding the non-renewal of the contract with the chairman of the board of UZ Oleksandr Kamyshin.

“The newly appointed head of the board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, Oleksandr Kamyshin, was appointed, in particular, on the basis of our Interim report. Based on the facts that we investigated during the work of the Commission, the NSDC decided to change the management of Ukrzaliznytsia. After all, there was a hope that a new management would come and there would be new actions, there would be a new strategy, which we obliged Kamyshin to present to us. So far, no strategy has been presented. Until now, there is a situation with non-fulfillment of presidential decrees, no reform has been carried out, there is no unbundling, there is nothing. The Association Agreement with the EU will be overdue in a few months … ”- stressed the head of the IC.

On August 11, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Oleksandr Kamyshin as acting chairman of the board of UZ. At the end of October, he was appointed as the head of the board of the company until December 31, 2021.
