Indian Railways Expands High-Speed Network

Officials confirmed that Indian Railways upgraded 23,000 kilometers of tracks to support 130 kmph speeds. Safety measures, including advanced signaling and fencing systems, ensure reliable and secure operations.

Additionally, 54,337 kilometers of tracks now accommodate speeds up to 110 kmph. Progress continues as 2,741 kilometers of tracks are already operational at higher speeds this fiscal year.

Indian Railways Drives Economic Growth

Financially, Indian Railways achieved ₹1.93 lakh crore in revenue during the first nine months of the fiscal year. Freight services generated ₹1.26 lakh crore, while passenger earnings rose 6% to ₹55,988 crore. Capital investments increased by 2%, further strengthening infrastructure and service expansions.

Semi-High-Speed Trains Transform Travel

Modernization supports semi-high-speed trains, including the Vande Bharat Express, capable of reaching 160 kmph. Key routes along the Golden Quadrilateral undergo upgrades to accommodate these faster services. Passengers benefit from reduced travel times and greater efficiency.

Service Expansions Meet Rising Demand

Train operations increased by 3%, reaching 2.07 million runs this year. Special train services grew by 54% during peak periods, addressing high demand effectively. Updated schedules added 62 special trains and 34 Vande Bharat services, improving nationwide accessibility.

Continuous upgrades prioritize faster, safer, and more reliable services. Modern infrastructure positions Indian Railways as a leader in transportation innovation and efficiency. Investments in signaling and fencing ensure sustainability and long-term growth for the network.
