The Prague Public Transport Operator (DPP) plans to purchase 69 unmanned trains for lines C and D. The first phase of Line D will require 10 trains, with an additional 16 after the completion of construction.
Line C is expected to receive 53 unmanned trains.
It is anticipated that the new trains will commence operation in 2029, including a 35-year technical maintenance period.
The installation of Level 4 ATO (GoA4) will enable unmanned operation on lines C and D, increasing capacity by 20% by reducing train intervals to 90 seconds.
This is expected to save up to 770 million crowns annually by reducing personnel costs.
The new Line D will include 10 stations, while Line C will have 20.
The completion of the tender for the supply of rolling stock and works is expected by the end of 2025, bringing innovation to the Prague metro and enhancing the efficiency of urban transport.
