Among other things, they discussed the supply of electric locomotives. The Minister of Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov wrote about this on his Facebook page, informs Railway Supply magazine.

According to the head of the department, at the meeting they discussed the development of the railway, road network and aviation. In particular, the issue of attracting French investments and implementing joint projects was raised. It would ensure better integration of Ukraine into the European transport network, logistics and the economy as a whole.

Alexander Kubrakov said that among the priorities of the Ministry of Infrastructure are the renewal of the fleet of freight electric locomotives for Ukrzaliznytsia, the participation of French construction companies in road concession projects and the formation of a fleet for the national air carrier.

“We see the readiness of our French colleagues to build strategic partnership projects that involve not just the purchase of goods or services, but long-term concessional financing, industrial cooperation and a high percentage of localization of production. Difficult negotiations continue, each country seeks to protect its interests and the interests of its producers. However, I am sure that we will find consensus on each of the issues,” the minister summed up.

This is not the first negotiations on the production of French electric locomotives for UZ. As previously reported, in early November, the company management expressed the hope that the contract with Alstom would be concluded before the end of 2021.
