10.04.2024
The Kazakh transportation company KTZ continues to modernize its fleet of cars to ensure comfortable and safe passenger transportation, as reported by the company “NPO A.T.O.R.,” a leader in comprehensive supply for passenger carriages, electric trains, and socially oriented transport.
Recently, 44 new passenger cars produced by ZIKSTO were put into operation, including 29 compartment cars and 15 open-plan cars.
These cars will be integrated into 12-car trains, significantly improving service quality on the Kyzylorda-Semey route.
The delivery of new cars from the Kazakh manufacturer is part of a larger contract between KTZ and ZIKSTO, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
As part of this agreement, 94 new cars were delivered in 2023, with another 12 expected this year.
There are also plans to acquire an additional 157 cars produced by ZIKSTO, emphasizing the strategic partnership between the companies.
However, in addition to agreements with local manufacturers, KTZ has also signed a contract to supply 537 Stadler passenger cars by 2030.
These cars will be produced at a local plant in Nur-Sultan, promoting production localization and job creation in the region.
It is expected that the fleet renewal will reduce the average age of trains and improve the quality of services provided to KTZ passengers.
