18.02.2024
The Dortmunder Stadtwerke AG (DSW21) has contracted for the delivery of 8 B80D model trams, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
This order complements the previous contract for 26 trams of the same type.
The Turkish company Ozbir Vagon has produced track equipment for Switzerland
HeiterBlick will handle the production of the bodies and assembly of the cars, while Kiepe Electric will handle the production of control and motion monitoring systems.
The new trams will be equipped with climate control systems, USB sockets, and Wi-Fi, with a maximum speed of 80 km/h.
This is a continuation of the collaboration between HeiterBlick, Kiepe Electric, and Dortmunder Stadtwerke AG, which began with a contract for 26 B80D model trams and the modernization of 64 B80C model trams.
The total cost of all orders amounts to 200 million euros, and the new trams are expected to be delivered by 2031. HeiterBlick, a German company from Leipzig, also supplies trams to other German cities such as Hannover and Bielefeld.
