In the southwestern province of Yunnan, the Lijiang-Shangri-La electrified railway, spanning 139 km with 13 stations, has connected cities, reducing travel time to 1 hour and 18 minutes, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

In China, a new railway line has been opened

Construction, initiated in 2014, involved the excavation of 20 tunnels and the building of 34 bridges in challenging geological conditions.

Part of the Yunnan-Tibet trunk line, the new railway aims to enhance population mobility, boost tourism, and facilitate the transportation of minerals and agricultural products.

It also links Shangri-La with Kunming, the provincial capital, improving regional connectivity.
