01.02.2024
According to Terekhov, there are several key directions for Kharkiv’s development by 2024, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The priority is the city’s recovery, with plans to build 150 residential buildings costing over 1 billion UAH.
The city authorities intend to fund this from the local budget, state budget, and international partners.
Additionally, tenders for purchasing electric buses are scheduled, and the mayor considers the construction of two metro stations as another crucial development direction.
“The mayor stated, ‘As we planned to build the metro, two metro stations – we will participate in the tender. There are already some participants willing to build the metro in Kharkiv. As we planned to procure rolling stock for the metro, we will enter the tender – also procuring rolling stock for the metro. We also plan to participate in the tender. There are all technical conditions for the purchase of electric buses. This is a new mode of transportation that will appear on the streets of Kharkiv. For us, €15 million is already reserved for this project. In addition, there are many projects for the restoration of housing and infrastructure in the city of Kharkiv that we will undertake with our international partners,’ said the mayor.
Recall, funds for metro construction have already been allocated. Kharkiv will receive over 722 million UAH from the state budget for the construction of the Alekseevskaya metro line.
The funds allocated from the budget will become additional financing for the construction of the Kharkiv metro.
In particular, this project includes the construction of the Alekseevskaya metro line:
– 3.5 kilometers of new tunnels towards the airport;
– Metro stations ‘Derzhavinska’ and ‘Odeska’;
– Metro depot near the intersection of the ring road and Luhova Svobody Avenue;
– Acquisition of 85 metro carriages.
