Helrom green loan of $35 million will fund a major trailer wagon purchase, boosting sustainable rail freight and supporting the company’s mission to decarbonize European logistics. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Helrom has secured a $35.5 million green loan from Societe Generale and DAL Deutsche Anlagen-Leasing. Each partner contributed 50%, providing strong support for Helrom’s next growth phase.

The loan follows the LMA Green Loan Principles and features a seven-year amortization term. Despite tough market conditions, Helrom negotiated favorable terms, showing investor confidence in its vision.
Helrom green loan to finance 120 trailer wagons
This investment will enable Helrom to purchase 120 trailer wagons. These wagons will support the company’s next six trains and expand its capacity across key freight corridors.
By investing in proprietary trailer technology, Helrom aims to provide a low-emission alternative to road transport. The project fits within the company’s ESG strategy and climate-neutral goals.
CFO Dr. Matthias Herrmann called the financing a major milestone: “We’re proud to partner again with Societe Generale and DAL. This green loan proves strong alignment with our sustainability goals.”
