The agreement grants GySEV full operational control, including infrastructure upkeep and passenger service management. This move supports the government’s ongoing strategy to restructure the national rail sector.

Passenger services between Zalaegerszeg and Celldömölk are now operated by GySEV. However, further expansions depend on acquiring additional rolling stock to support operations along other routes.

The transferred network includes major regional corridors:

  • Győrszabadhegy – Celldömölk
  • Győrszabadhegy – Veszprém
  • Veszprémvarsány – Franciavágás (freight only)
  • Pápa – Csorna
  • Zalaszentiván – Nagykanizsa

Additional lines now under GySEV management:

  • Porpác – Székesfehérvár (excluding terminal station)
  • Zalaegerszeg – Rédics
  • Zalabér-Batyk – Zalaszentgrót (freight only)
  • Boba – Őriszentpéter
  • Ukk – Balatonszentgyörgy (excluding Balatonszentgyörgy)
  • Hajmáskér – Csajág (freight only)
  • Murakeresztúr – Balatonszentgyörgy
  • Murakeresztúr – Gyékényes
