Expanding Capabilities with Granite

Granite will install new loading spurs, expand staging areas, and build a secondary connection to Union Pacific Railroad. These improvements are designed to increase capacity, reduce loading times, and enhance operational flow.

This federally funded project is part of Granite’s third-quarter 2024 Committed and Awarded Projects (CAP) list. It highlights the company’s expanding role in critical infrastructure development across the United States.

Strategic Growth in West Texas

Granite’s regional vice president, Derek Betts, emphasized the project’s importance for the company and its employees. He stated that the work strengthens internal partnerships while offering new growth opportunities in federal infrastructure projects.

Curt Haldeman, another executive at Granite, praised the collaboration between the Federal Division and regional teams. This strategic partnership boosts Granite’s market presence and federal expertise in West Texas.

In 2022, Granite completed a $22M project for California’s Metrolink station. The project, funded by the Riverside County Transportation Commission, expanded tracks and platforms to support regional transportation.

Earlier this year, Union Pacific announced a $3.4 billion infrastructure investment plan. It allocated $1.9 billion for infrastructure upgrades, $600 million for capacity improvements, and $300 million for technology.

Granite continues to lead the way in delivering innovative infrastructure solutions, showcasing its commitment to excellence in West Texas and beyond.
