Up to three framework agreements with leading railway manufacturers are planned. These agreements will be in effect from April 2026 to March 2034.

The contract also includes commitments for technical maintenance and spare parts supply. The main regions of operation will be the S-Bahn networks in Rhine-Main, Stuttgart, and Munich.

This large-scale procurement is a key step toward modernizing the country’s railway transport. Authorities aim to reduce carbon emissions by increasing the number of electric trains in operation.

Companies interested in participating must offer innovative solutions that meet environmental and technical standards. The tender will shape the future of Germany’s railway infrastructure.
