Mayor Fatma Şahin highlighted the importance of the high-speed train tunnel during her recent inspection. This development is part of GAZIRAY, designed to carry 11,000 passengers daily and improve travel efficiency.

Şahin, accompanied by TCDD General Manager Veysi Kurt, evaluated the line’s progress from the Baspinar stop. She emphasized that the tunnel’s completion brings the city closer to modern, integrated transit solutions.

High-Speed Train Tunnel Strengthens Regional and International Connectivity

GAZIRAY’s High-Speed Train Tunnel contributes to broader regional goals, including the Osmaniye-Aleppo line. Mayor Şahin announced plans to launch this international route, enhancing Gaziantep’s strategic significance in transit networks.

The GAZIRAY project spans 25 kilometers and features 16 stops. It reduces city traffic while connecting Gaziantep’s city center to the 5th Organized Industrial Zone.

GAZIRAY is a collaborative effort between Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, the Ministry of Transport, and TCDD. The project connects Gaziantep to both local and international transportation networks, reinforcing its vision for innovation and development.
