FreightCar America Expands Market Share with Railcar Portfolio
Nick Randall, president and CEO of FreightCar America, stated that consistent customer trust and interest in products like gondolas, open-top hoppers, and covered hopper cars fueled this performance.
Because FreightCar America manufactures in the U.S., Randall believes its domestic base strengthens the company’s sales resilience amid changing trade policies and tariff discussions.
FreightCar America benefits from the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), meaning railcars sold across North America avoid additional tariffs. Randall confirmed the company continues to monitor trade developments closely.
FreightCar America Focuses on Operational Excellence and Growth
The company’s operational improvements at its manufacturing facility, combined with a strategic supply chain approach, support FreightCar America’s confidence in future growth opportunities.
Randall emphasized that ongoing customer demand and internal efficiency initiatives enable FreightCar America to maintain its leadership position in the North American railcar industry.
Based in Chicago, Illinois, FreightCar America has specialized in railcar design, manufacturing, repairs, and conversions since 1901, offering a wide portfolio of services to the freight transportation market.
