The initial batch includes 30 units worth €1.06 billion, with the remainder to follow in stages. The contract includes 15 years of technical maintenance.

Each train will feature a fully low-floor design and a maximum speed of 230 km/h.

The push-pull configuration includes two driving cars: one with a driver’s cab and the other for coupling with the locomotive. Between them are high-capacity intermediate coaches, including one adapted for passengers with reduced mobility.

To operate these trains, FlixTrain will also purchase Vectron locomotives from Siemens Mobility.

As demand for cross-border travel continues to grow, the company aims to offer a cost-effective alternative to air travel.

FlixTrain’s investment in sustainable mobility

FlixTrain focuses on environmentally friendly transport and scales its network using flexible train configurations.

These solutions help reduce operational costs while improving the passenger experience.

The operator is part of Flix SE, a global mobility group that also owns FlixBus, active in over 50 countries worldwide.

Its coverage includes Europe, the United States, India, Canada, Mexico, Turkey, Brazil, and other key markets.
