The UAE Cabinet, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, reviewed the Etihad Rail Passenger Train Project at Qasr Al Watan. The high-speed rail system, reaching 350 km/h, is expected to contribute ₦145 billion to the economy over five decades.

By providing a seamless and efficient transport network, the project supports national development goals. The initiative cements the UAE’s status as a global leader in transportation, ensuring sustainable economic expansion and urban growth.
Economic Impact of the Etihad Rail Passenger Train Project
Alongside the rail initiative, the Cabinet established the Emirates Council for Logistics Integration, enhancing trade and transportation coordination. This council aims to unify logistics efforts, improving efficiency across ports, roads, and customs.
The logistics sector, valued at ₦129 billion in 2023, is projected to surpass ₦200 billion soon. Strengthening trade infrastructure ensures continued international business expansion and solidifies the UAE’s role as a logistics powerhouse.
Additionally, the UAE Government Innovation Month was launched, promoting technological advancement and operational efficiency. The Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation continues to share expertise with over 30 governments worldwide.
The Cabinet also approved the National Cybersecurity Strategy, prioritizing digital security and resilience. The UAE remains committed to safeguarding its technological assets, reinforcing its leadership in global cybersecurity.
