The contract between Egypt’s national railway operator, ENR, and the Spanish manufacturer was signed in 2022.

This project represents a significant step toward modernizing Egypt’s railway fleet.

Talgo trains are known for their high reliability and advanced technology, which will greatly enhance the quality of transportation services in the country.

Spanish funding will enable Egypt to make these long-awaited updates without placing significant short-term pressure on its budget.

The agreement strengthens bilateral ties between Spain and Egypt in the field of transportation infrastructure.

The deal includes not only the delivery of new locomotives but also technical maintenance and personnel training to ensure effective use of the new rolling stock.

The purchase of new Talgo locomotives will be a significant contribution to the development of Egypt’s railway transport, improving the quality of services and safety on the country’s railways.
