Eco Material Launches New Rail Terminal in New York
10.05.2025
Eco Material Technologies has opened a new Rail Terminal in Queens, New York, to supply fly ash and green cement to metro-area construction projects more efficiently. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This facility, operated by Precision Terminal Logistics (PTL) and served by New York & Atlantic Railway (NYA), allows Eco Material to deliver sustainable products directly from its landfill-recovery sites.

Many of the distributed materials come from the company’s Danville, Pennsylvania facility, where coal ash from landfills is converted into high-grade, specification-level products.
Eco Material CEO Grant Quasha emphasized the significance of the terminal, stating it supports the company’s long-term goal of replacing traditional portland cement with low-carbon alternatives in major urban centers.
By using rail instead of trucks, the company reduces emissions and transportation costs while speeding up delivery timelines. This move also helps alleviate pressure on urban roadways.
Rail Terminal to Serve Growing Construction Demand
PTL’s Vice President Jason Hodge highlighted that developing this Rail Terminal has been a multi-year effort between PTL and Eco Material.
PTL operates 24 transload terminals across 15 states and sees this project as a key opportunity to scale logistics services in New York’s construction sector.
Rail Terminal Partnership Supports Sustainable Supply Chains
NYA President Marlon Taylor stressed that the project improves logistics while cutting truck traffic and emissions.
He said the partnership leverages NYA’s existing infrastructure to meet demand in Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island counties while supporting green building efforts.
NYA connects with major freight carriers like CSX, Norfolk Southern, and Canadian Pacific Kansas City, boosting Eco Material’s regional distribution capacity.
This expanded access helps construction firms meet sustainability targets and stay competitive in a market moving toward low-carbon infrastructure.
