Digital Corridor on the Trans-Caspian Route: A New Perspective on Logistics
30.05.2024
On May 23, 2024, the Kazakh company KTZ Express and Singapore’s Global DTC announced the launch of a project to create a digital corridor on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM), this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The corresponding declaration was signed at the Kazakh-Singapore business forum, symbolizing a new stage in the development of transport logistics between Asia and Europe.

The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, or TMTM, connects China with Europe through Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, utilizing railways and sea routes.
The implementation of the digital corridor aims to increase the efficiency and transparency of transit transportation.
The main goal of the project is to introduce electronic customs clearance for transit cargo passing through Kazakhstan. This will be made possible by the Global DTC’s Tez Customs digital platform, which allows for the electronic processing of cargo customs clearance.
According to KTZ Express, the Tez Customs platform significantly speeds up the customs clearance process, eliminating paperwork and reducing the risk of errors.
This not only accelerates the transportation process but also reduces costs for shipping companies.
Thus, the new digital corridor opens up new prospects for transport logistics in the region, contributing to Kazakhstan’s integration into the global trading system.
Another key development by Global DTC, the Digital Trade Corridor (DTC) platform, provides the ability to track cargo location in real-time, its customs status, and update information on accompanying documents.
This system has already been implemented in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan and is now being integrated into Georgia’s transport network.
The DTC technology was successfully tested in March 2024 on a route train that traveled from Xi’an (China) to the Absheron Peninsula (Azerbaijan).
The implementation of such technologies significantly enhances the transparency and reliability of transport operations.

Global DTC’s membership in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route Association since September 2023 underscores the importance and potential of integrating digital solutions into logistics.
The collaboration between companies from Kazakhstan and Singapore demonstrates a high level of international cooperation and a commitment to improving global transport connections.
The digital corridor project on the TMTM reflects modern trends in logistics, where digitalization and automation of processes become key factors of competitiveness.
The successful implementation of this project can serve as a model for other transport corridors, promoting international trade development and economic growth in the region.
Therefore, the partnership between KTZ Express and Global DTC, aimed at creating a digital corridor on the TMTM, is an important step towards a future where logistics will become more transparent, efficient, and integrated into global supply chains.
