Alstom secures a contract for the supply of switch point drives to Sweden valued at €107 million, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply

Delivery of Switch Point Drives

Trafikverket, the Swedish Transport Administration, has signed a framework agreement with Alstom for the delivery of modular switch point drives for the country’s railway lines, with a duration of 15 years and the possibility of extending the contract to 25 years.

The first order under this agreement could be placed in October 2024.

The total contract value is approximately €107 million.

Alstom will supply two models of switch point drives – for regular railway lines and high-speed lines designed for speeds up to 300 km/h.

These switch point drives are adapted to the climatic conditions of Scandinavia and have a declared operational lifespan of 1 million switch operations.
