New single-system locomotives for PKP Intercity will be supplied by NEWAG, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Delivery of electric locomotives

A contract has been signed for over one billion zlotys.

PKP Intercity has entered into a contract with Newag S.A. for the purchase of 46 new electric locomotives.

All vehicles will be assembled within 24 months from the contract signing date.

The first locomotives are set to hit the rails in 2024.
