09.07.2025
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project reached a major milestone as NHSRCL completed the Daman Ganga River bridge, finalizing all five crossings in Gujarat’s Valsad district. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project Moves Forward in Gujarat
The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has confirmed the completion of the Daman Ganga River bridge, a critical link in India’s first high-speed rail corridor.

The 360-meter-long bridge includes nine full-span girders and lies between the upcoming Boisar and Vapi stations. It is the 16th of 21 planned river bridges in Gujarat and adds to a total of 25 bridges across the corridor.
This achievement means all five river bridges in the Valsad district are now finished. Other completed bridges in the area include Auranga (320 m), Par (320 m), Kolak (160 m), and Darotha (80 m). NHSRCL had earlier completed the Darotha River bridge, further demonstrating steady progress on this segment.
The Valsad portion of the corridor spans approximately 56 kilometers, from Zaroli village to Vaghaldara village, including 4.3 kilometers through the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. This section features a 350-meter tunnel, a PSC bridge, and the future Vapi bullet train station.
Engineering Milestone: Daman Ganga Bridge Completed for Bullet Train Line
NHSRCL stated that the bridge’s successful completion reinforces the timeline of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, which aims to reduce travel time between the two cities to around two hours.
The project represents a transformational shift in India’s transport infrastructure, combining cutting-edge engineering with sustainable mobility.
With Gujarat leading in bridge completions, NHSRCL expects further acceleration of work across the corridor. As each segment falls into place, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed line moves closer to becoming a reality—bringing world-class rail travel to India’s western region.
