Czech Republic Enhances Rail Network

They will construct the initial 10-kilometer Nezamyslice-Kojetín section of the Brno-Pršerov line. Moreover, their offer of $291.3 million stood out as the best bid.

Construction kicks off in May 2025, and workers aim to finish by late 2028. Consequently, this project will enhance connectivity across the Czech rail network.

The team plans to build a 744-meter tunnel and eight railway bridges promptly. Additionally, the longest bridge will stretch 122 meters, supporting a second track.

Trains will accelerate from 100 km/h to 200 km/h on this upgraded section. Meanwhile, two new stops will improve passenger access along the route.

One stop will feature a bus station, and both will offer barrier-free entry. Thus, passengers, including those with limited mobility, will benefit significantly.

Noise barriers stretching nearly 2,900 meters will shield nearby towns from train sounds. Also, engineers will relocate the AC/DC connection point to Pršerov.

The section will adopt the European Train Control System (ETCS) for safety. Furthermore, the GSM-R radio system will ensure seamless communication on tracks.

The European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) fund co-finances this ambitious project. Therefore, it aligns with broader EU goals for sustainable transport infrastructure.

Czech Republic Transforms Brno-Pršerov Corridor

The Brno-Pršerov line forms a key segment of the Prague-Brno-Ostrava high-speed corridor. Ultimately, this route will become fully dual-track with no level crossings.

Planners will construct 80 bridges, six tunnels, and 28 overpasses across the corridor. Plus, nine stations will undergo major upgrades to boost efficiency.

Czech Republic Leads in Rail Innovation

The Ministry of Transport highlights these details with detailed computer graphics. So, the public can visualize the transformative scope of this rail initiative.

This project strengthens the nation’s position in Europe’s modern rail network. And it promises faster, safer travel for residents and visitors alike.

Investments in infrastructure like this drive economic growth and regional connectivity swiftly. Hence, the Brno-Pršerov line marks a milestone in transportation history.

Completion of the full Prague-Brno-Ostrava route will redefine travel across the region. Indeed, it showcases the power of collaboration between nations and industries.
