The Czech company Nymwag, known for its freight car manufacturing, is entering the Indian market, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This month, construction will begin on a new plant in Kolkata, which will be part of a joint venture with India’s leading railcar manufacturer, Texmaco Rail.

Nymwag’s CEO, Petr Vlček, discussed this project in an interview with Railmarket News.
The new facility is expected to produce up to 2,500 freight cars annually. The product range will include flatcars, tank cars, hoppers, and gondolas.
This marks a significant step for the company in expanding its presence in the global market.
Additionally, Nymwag is actively exploring opportunities to establish production facilities in Uzbekistan and Georgia.
In June, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the investment holding AZC Orbis Invest, which owns Nymwag, the Uzbek oil and gas company Saneg, and the “Gallaorol” special industrial zone.
However, no similar steps have yet been taken in Georgia, according to available information.
Nymwag was founded in 2019 and specializes in the production of various types of freight cars, such as tank cars, hoppers, container flatcars, and railcar bogies.
The company’s main production facilities are located in Nymburk. Since its founding, Nymwag has produced over 3,000 freight cars.
Last year, the plant produced 1,000 units, allowing the company to achieve nearly 120 million euros in revenue and an operating profit of 6.3 million euros.
The company has already contracted about 50-55% of its production capacity for the next year.
Thus, Nymwag is demonstrating ambitious plans to expand its geographic presence, strengthening its position in international markets, and increasing production capacity to meet the growing demand for its products.
