CRRC has supplied passenger and freight rolling stock to Guinea for the Kamsar–Sangarédi railway, restoring services and improving freight efficiency for the country’s mining-driven economy. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

CRRC delivered 10 hopper-distributor cars, 10 container flatcars, four passenger coaches, and one baggage car for the 135-kilometer standard-gauge line. These additions will revive passenger transport suspended six years ago and enhance logistics for bauxite shipments.

CRRC Strengthens Its Role in Guinea’s Railway Development

CRRC also contributed to other major projects in Guinea. In 2021–2022, it supplied locomotives and wagons for the Santou–Dapilon line, managed by the SMB-Winning consortium. Deliveries included 17 locomotives, models DF8B (CDD5B1), CDA5A1, CDA5C1, and 500 open wagons with 80-ton capacity.

Future Projects and Global Partnerships in Rail Expansion

Guinea is currently building the 625-kilometer Trans-Guinean Railway, a strategic project for mineral exports. Wabtec provides ES43ACmi locomotives for this corridor, with manufacturing at its facility in India. This collaboration reflects a global approach to infrastructure growth.

The recent CRRC deliveries signal renewed investment in Guinea’s transport sector. Restored passenger services and modernized freight operations will reduce transit times and support economic growth, strengthening Guinea’s role in the international bauxite market.
