CRRC Assembles First Units in China, Remainder in Malaysia
While CRRC built the first two trains in Zhuzhou, China, the remaining eight will be assembled locally in Batu Gajah. The last unit is set for delivery by early 2026.
This partnership promotes Malaysian manufacturing and knowledge transfer. It also supports the government’s infrastructure strategy and long-term transport modernization goals.
CRRC ETS3 Features Modern Systems and Enhanced Safety
The ETS3 model travels up to 140 km/h and accommodates 312 passengers, including 36 in business class. Interior design emphasizes comfort, efficiency, and safety.
Each train includes smart diagnostic systems and driver assistance features. It also meets modern crash and fire safety standards, complying with international guidelines.
Additionally, onboard 640 Ah batteries maintain life-support systems for two hours during power loss. This feature ensures passenger safety in emergency conditions.
CRRC and KTMB expect the ETS3 fleet to enhance capacity and operational reliability. These trains represent a major step toward safer, smarter, and more sustainable rail transport in Malaysia.
