CRRC, as part of a consortium, has won the tender for the modernization, operation, and rolling stock provision for the 101 km São Paulo – Campinas line with a track gauge of 1600 mm, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The total investment volume for the project is estimated at $2.9 billion.

CRRC is required to supply 15 electric trains capable of reaching speeds of up to 140 km/h and accommodating up to 860 passengers.

The completion of the line’s modernization is expected in 2031.
