The government will undertake the development and construction of the underground section connecting the high-speed Basque Y line to Abando in Bilbao, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The project is estimated to cost 226.5 million euros. MITMA will assign Adif AV to develop infrastructure, electrification, and security systems at a cost of 53.6 million euros.
