The station’s design, proposed by architectural firms WSP and Grimshaw Architects, draws inspiration from historical arched structures of Victorian-era railway stations.
Adhering to the BREEAM excellent standard for ecological efficiency, the project promises a climate-neutral carbon footprint through nature-conserving technologies.
Groundwork initiated in January 2024 prepares the site for foundation installation.
Construction stages, slated until 2028, include building the station, erecting a steel arched framework, and interior finishing.
The testing and operational introduction program spans from 2026 to 2028, with station opening anticipated between 2029 and 2033.
This project not only modernizes infrastructure but also strives to uphold high standards of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
