This critical infrastructure was built with Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture and includes a two-lane underpass and a pedestrian pathway.
It replaces the old crossing at Whitley Avenue, which is one of the 222 planned grade separations across the 119-mile stretch between Madera and Bakersfield.
Future Prospects for the California High-Speed Rail Project
The California High-Speed Rail project continues to gain momentum despite facing opposition. The state’s leadership remains determined to see the project through to completion, with a commitment to building a fully electrified rail system. As of now, more than 60 miles of guideway have been completed, and over 50 structures are already in place for track laying.
The authority is optimistic about meeting upcoming milestones, such as laying the first tracks in Central Valley next year.
With 171 miles of track under design and construction, the project is making substantial progress, with 30 structures currently under construction in key counties.
