CAF to supply Civity suburban trains to the Netherlands
18.03.2024
The public transport company in the Netherlands, Qbuzz, part of the FS Group, has chosen CAF to supply 10 three-car Civity suburban trains, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Delivery is planned for the year 2028.
The trains will be equipped with the ETCS CAF signaling system and designed to carry about 350 passengers at speeds of up to 160 km/h.
In Kazakhstan, tariffs for railway transportation of coal, ore, and scrap metal have increased
They will be energy-efficient and provide space for bicycles and passengers with limited mobility.
These investments are aimed at improving public transport and making it more sustainable.
The new trains will be used on the line connecting the cities of Dordrecht and Geldermalsen, replacing trains not equipped with the upgraded ERTMS signaling system.
Qbuzz and the South Holland province are investing in the modernization of public transport until December 2033, taking into account the implementation of the European digital railway safety system ERTMS.
This will also improve passenger comfort by increasing the number of doors and toilets on board.
According to the new agreements, Qbuzz will serve the DMG region for another 7 years and expand the schedules of R-net and SnelBuzz lines.
