CAF remains the sole participant in the tender for the supply of 40 six-car metro trains to Madrid, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Local media report that the other two companies that submitted their bids – Alstom and Hitachi Rail – have been excluded from the competition due to non-compliance with technical specifications.

In turn, CAF offered to fulfill the contract for €372 million, compared to the initial price of €580.8 million.

Its bid scored 99.8 points.It is worth noting that the tender also includes an optional part for an additional 40 train sets.
