Bulgaria has announced a tender for 20 electric trains: Alstom and Skoda Group have submitted their offers

The Bulgarian Ministry of Transport and Communications has announced a new tender for the supply of 20 single-deck electric trains, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The initial contract value is set at 1.2 billion levs (about 614 million euros) excluding VAT. The expected delivery deadline is August 2026.

Currently, two companies are participating in the tender: Alstom and Skoda Group. Alstom has offered to fulfill the contract for 337 million euros, while Skoda Group’s bid is 261 million euros.
The previous tender for the supply of push-pull trains was canceled as the European Commission decided to exclude CRRC from participation.
