Bengaluru Metro Yellow Line Launch Updates and Timelines Clarified by BMRCL

Speculation grew after MP Tejasvi Surya said the driverless trainset would be dispatched on January 6. But non-availability of rolling stock meant further slip of time.
The first trainset for the project was built by Titagarh Rail System Limited (TRSL) in Kolkata. It is due to launch on 6 January 2024 to counteract false claims on social media.
Production Headwinds for Bengaluru Metro Yellow Line Project
The Yellow Line, which is 18 km long, is part of the second phase expansion of Bengaluru Metro. Phase I consists of the Purple, Green Lines, plus the new Yellow Line extension.
The rolling stock was provided by CRRC Corporation Ltd, who were supposed to supply 216 coaches and who, in collaboration with the TRSL, to began manufacturing the trainsets locally. The general rollout was also muddied by production problems and missed deadlines.
