Indian Railways introduced the Bengaluru–Belagavi Vande Bharat Express to enhance travel efficiency and passenger comfort. The train began operations after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated three new Vande Bharat services in Bengaluru.

The new service connects Belagavi, known for top medical and engineering colleges, with Bengaluru, the state’s technology hub. Running six days a week except Wednesday, it offers a practical schedule for regular travelers.

Vande Bharat Express Route and Benefits

The train covers 611 kilometers in just 8.5 hours, saving passengers 80 minutes compared to other services. With eight chair-car coaches and seating for 530 people, it combines speed with capacity.

Its route passes through Dharwad, Hubballi, Haveri, Davangere, and Tumakuru, linking education, industry, and agriculture centers. The scenic journey through Karnataka’s sugarcane belt supports trade and tourism while connecting communities.

The advanced suspension system ensures smooth rides and passenger safety. Faster access to Bengaluru boosts opportunities for students, professionals, farmers, and traders across the region.

This is the 11th Vande Bharat train from Karnataka, adding to India’s network of 75 such trains operating in 24 states. Nationwide, these services make 150 daily trips, reflecting a commitment to modern rail travel.

Alongside this launch, the Prime Minister also introduced the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Amritsar and Ajni (Nagpur)–Pune services. These additions further expand India’s semi-high-speed train network and improve intercity connections.
