BEML has expanded its manufacturing presence by acquiring 148 acres of land in Madhya Pradesh to support domestic production of rolling stock and metro coaches.

The Madhya Pradesh government approved the allotment of 60.063 hectares in Umeria, Raisen district. This site will house a cutting-edge facility to build rail and metro components for Indian infrastructure projects.

This move strengthens BEML’s role in India’s Make in India program and helps meet the growing demand for modern transport solutions nationwide. It also supports regional development by creating job opportunities.

BEML Strengthens Metro and Rail Capabilities

The facility will increase BEML’s production capacity and reduce delivery times for large-scale transport contracts. With demand rising in Indian cities, this unit will play a vital role in timely project execution.

Increased manufacturing space also gives BEML a competitive edge in winning new metro and railway tenders. The location supports logistics and supply chain efficiency across central India.

On May 9, BEML announced the acquisition of 100 acres in Janjgir-Champa, Chhattisgarh. The land was allotted at a symbolic rate of ₹1 per acre, or approximately $0.012, reflecting strong state support for industrial growth.

BEML Continues Strategic Growth Across India

The new Chhattisgarh facility will produce heavy earth-moving machinery, diversifying BEML’s manufacturing footprint. Together, both projects mark a major investment in self-reliant, indigenous production.

Regulatory filings confirmed both land deals through the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE. These actions reinforce BEML’s position in transport and industrial equipment supply.

BEML operates across defense, mining, rail, and metro sectors, delivering advanced solutions to key infrastructure programs. It remains a trusted supplier for India’s fast-evolving mobility needs.

By expanding in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the company improves operational scale and service coverage. BEML’s continued growth ensures it stays ahead in India’s infrastructure transformation.
