Bangladesh Railway Adds Special Trains for Eid Travel

To meet growing demand, Bangladesh Railway will operate ten special trains across five major routes. These services will run from June 4 to 6 and resume from June 9 to 14, including trips on Eid day.

Unlike regular trains, tickets for special services will only be available at station counters and cannot be purchased online. This system helps manage capacity and offers more flexibility to passengers traveling on high-demand dates.

Across the country, 43 intercity trains will run during the Eid period, providing approximately 33,315 seats. In addition, 25% of each train’s capacity will be allocated to standing passengers, with tickets sold at stations.

Bangladesh Railway Ticket Schedule and Travel Guidelines

Advance tickets are sold on a staggered schedule. May 31 tickets went on sale May 21, followed by June 2 on May 23 and June 3 on May 24. Tickets for June 5 and 6 will be released on May 26 and 27.

Passengers can buy up to four tickets in one transaction. All advance tickets are non-refundable, so travelers are advised to confirm their plans before purchasing.

On May 6, the Council of Advisers approved a 10-day holiday starting June 5 for Eid-ul-Azha, offering additional time for nationwide travel and family reunions.
