AtkinsRéalis Group Inc. has secured a significant contract from Network Rail to modernize signaling and telecommunications in the eastern region of Great Britain, covering over 6,000 miles of track, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
This project, announced as part of the Eastern Routes Partnership Framework, represents a major upgrade of the railway infrastructure.

The contract, worth £150 million over five years with the potential for a further five-year extension, could total £300 million.

A significant portion of the existing infrastructure was built over 40 years ago, making these upgrades critical for Network Rail.
