An additional 30 Newag electric locomotives to be delivered

The most exciting week in Newag’s history continues. The Polish manufacturer has announced another significant contract – the delivery of 30 electric locomotives along with maintenance services, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Newag’s management reports that the contract has been signed with the French companies Locomotive Pool Structure 1 SAS and Akiem SAS.
In Kyrgyzstan, 9.8 thousand kilometers of railways and 146 freight cars have been repaired
These two companies are part of the Akiem group, one of the world leaders in the locomotive leasing market.
The contract entails the delivery of 30 electric locomotives along with an eight-year preventive and repair maintenance service contract.
The agreements also include the customer’s right to order up to 50 additional locomotives with technical maintenance services, which can be fully or partially utilized until December 31, 2025.
The locomotives are scheduled for delivery between 2025 and 2027.
The approximate value of the contracts is €164.076 million, covering the locomotive supply remuneration of around €128.1 million and approximately €36 million for technical maintenance.
Including the optional rights, Newag could earn up to €445.53 million, as reported by RK.
